Swim Policies Updated 2023

Water safety is a top priority for Greater Austin YMCA, and with guidance from YMCA of the USA, we’re strengthening our swim policies to support recent updates made to Texas pool codes.

These updates include a new swim test and color band system at all Greater Austin YMCA locations.

What updates are being made?

  • All swimmers age 13 and younger must have a parent/guardian (ages 18+) in the pool area actively supervising all activities.
