Vision & Purpose

The Greater Austin YMCA now provides direct in-person mental health counseling services at East Communities Y and COA/North Austin Y. Teletherapy services are available to all Greater Austin Y members and members of the community regardless of their location.

The centers’ clinical staff is comprised of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist supervisor (LMFT- S); and Texas State and St. Edward’s University master level clinical interns completing their final internship before graduation. All staff work within the standards and ethical guidelines of state licensing laws, professional associations.

The Greater Austin YMCA is uniquely positioned to bring together caring professionals who are dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for ALL and facilitating the emotional support of youth and families in our community in spaces that they know, with people they trust.

Locations

East Communities YMCA & COA/North Austin YMCA centers are home to in-person mental health counseling services.

Teletherapy is available to all YMCA members & members of the community, regardless of location.

Cost

Costs are for individuals, couples and families.

YMCA Members: Initial Meeting $75  Appointments $60 
Community Members:  Initial Meeting $95  Appointments $80 

About Our Counselors

Emily is currently a graduate student at Texas State University training to work as a Marriage and Family Therapist and is expected to graduate in May 2024. Emily likes working with individuals and families and her clinical areas of interest include anxiety, end of life and LGBTQ+ issues.  

Sonia is a graduate student at St. Edward’s University pursuing her degree in Counseling and is expected to graduate in May 2024. She has a strong background in crisis management and a genuine passion for helping others. Sonia’s therapeutic approach includes integrating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to create a holistic approach to healing and personal growth. Her therapeutic practices is centered on fostering self-discovery and understanding throughout the healing journey. Sonia focuses her expertise on guiding individuals, couples, and families through challenging situations. Her unique blend of lived experience, training, and hands-on clinical experience, makes her a compassionate and effective therapist. 

Jenn is currently a graduate student at Texas State University specializing in marriage, couples, and family counseling and expected to graduate in May 2024. She has a desire to help individuals and couples live meaningful and connected lives and is interested in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, relationship distress, and grief and loss. Jenn is a veteran and is dedicated to serving other service members, veterans, and their families  

Hailey is a graduate student at Texas State University training in the Professional Counseling Program and is expected to graduate in May 2024. Using CBT, and Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TI-CBT) her clinical areas of interest are Developmental Trauma and working with Intimate Partner Violence survivors.
