Join us in welcoming Lauren Brun on August 17 as the Northwest Family YMCA’s new Associate Executive Director. Lauren will be working alongside Sr. Executive Director, Adrienne Barnett, who now oversees both Northwest Family YMCA and the new Four Points YMCA opening in 2024. The Greater Austin YMCA is growing!

Lauren started her Y journey as a lifeguard and swim instructor during college. After graduating, she moved to Florida working with Tampa YMCA as a lifeguard, front desk representative and Aquatics and Sport Coordinator role at a small branch serving the underserved population. It was in this role that she found her passion and love for the work we do at the Y; so much so that she decided to turn it into her career. She was quickly promoted into the Program Director role, taking on the additional responsibilities of youth & family programming, kid & youth zones, and youth non-sports.

Continuing her journey in Tampa, she moved into an Aquatics Director role at one of their medium-sized locations for two years before moving to one of our largest locations as a Senior Aquatics Director. After 7 years with Tampa Y, she moved to the Atlanta YMCA to serve as the Regional Membership Director.

Lauren is a big Tampa Bay Lightning hockey fan! She studied abroad in Australia for 6 months in college. Fun fact about Lauren, she decided to run a half-marathon on a whim without training in 2019! Please help make Lauren’s transition to Austin a warm and welcoming one.
