Teaching Kids Stewardship: A Skill that Lasts a Lifetime
Helping Children Learn to Care for Their World
Stewardship is the act of caring for the world around us. It means taking responsibility for our spaces, our communities and the people and living things that share them with us. When children develop a sense of stewardship early in life, they grow into people who understand that their actions matter.
For families, teaching stewardship can start with small daily habits. And through thoughtful YMCA afterschool care programs, children have opportunities to practice these values every day in meaningful ways.
