As a charitable organization with roots in Austin since 1953, the YMCA of Austin is open to all. We will not turn anyone away due to economic circumstances. Our Annual Giving Campaign contributions enable us to continue serving all.

There is a one-time Join Fee for all activated memberships. Those who cancel their membership may rejoin in branch within 45 days and not repay the Join Fee.

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home Y is the local association that enrolled you as a member and collects your membership dues). We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to strengthen communities.

  • Nationwide Membership is valid for active, full facility YMCA members whose home Y participates without restriction or blackout periods
  • Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time
  • Program-only participants (including Silver Sneakers, Silver and Fit or other like programs) are not eligible for nationwide membership
  • Special memberships established by any Y for group homes, other agencies, etc., are not eligible
  • When visiting a Y, nationwide members will be required to show a valid YMCA membership card and photo ID as well as provide basic membership data such as name and email address
  • Members will need to sign a universal liability waiver and privacy policy
  • Ys should allow nationwide members access to services typically offered to full-facility members. Check with the Y for schedule and availability. Nationwide members visiting other Ys for a period greater than 28 days must transfer membership affiliation for continued use
  • All Ys reserve the right to restrict or revoke these privileges
  • Registered sex offenders are prohibited from participating

Guest Visits

  • Guests are welcome, space permitting, when attending with an active member
    • Limit: One guest per active member. Guests are limited to one free visit per year with a member.
    • Additional visits will be subject to a $15 day use fee for adults, $10 for children. 
  •  Guest pass available for prospective members taking a guided tour
    • Limit one pass per year
  • Guests must be accompanied by a member and have a valid picture ID

Day Passes

  • Day pass visitors are welcome into any YMCA of Austin facility, space permitting
  • Unlimited day pass visits per calendar year

SilverSneakers® is a preventative exercise program that enhances the quality of life for mature adults across the country. One of the largest senior-focused exercise program in the United States, this partnership between HCD and HMOs allows Medicare-eligible members of these health plans to participate in YMCA programs at no additional cost.

Silver & Fit®

Silver & Fit® provides eligible members with no-cost or low-cost fitness memberships through arrangements with certain health care plans. Silver & Fit is designed to help seniors achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. Visit for more information.

Renew Active™ from UnitedHealthcare

Renew Active™ from UnitedHealthcare is an easy way to keep your fitness routine fresh and fun. Get access to a variety of exercise classes, equipment and social activities. Renew Active™ is available at the Y for no additional cost to you as part of your healthcare plan.

  • I authorize the YMCA of Austin to draft my billing method credit card, debit card, or checking account monthly that I have provided on this date.
  • I understand that monthly dues will be electronically drafted each month.
  • Should a change of billing information be necessary, I accept responsibility to update information in a timely manner.
  • Should any member debt not be honored by the member’s credit card company or bank for any reason, the member is still responsible for that payment plus a service charge applied by the YMCA. Fees on NSF declines are as follows:
    • $15 for declines on charges of $1-40; 
    • $25 for declines on charges of $41-49; 
    • $30 for declines on charges of $50 and above. 
    • The fee for all other decline reasons will be $10 (ex. invalid card number, expiration date, lost/stolen, etc.)   
  • This is in addition to any service fee the member’s credit card company or bank may charge.
  • The membership is subject to termination if the debt is not paid.
  • The YMCA of Austin does not refund any membership fees due to non-usage of facilities or programs.
  • A ten (10) day termination notification prior to payment draft date is required for cancellation. Notice must be submitted in writing via form available at Welcome Center, by e-mail to Membership Director or Coordinator or from online request on website.
  • If termination notification is submitted in writing within thirty (30) days of the initial join date, the YMCA will refund the initial payment minus a $25 administration fee.
  • Membership cards must be scanned at the front desk to access all facilities.
  • Membership cards remain the property of the YMCA of Austin and must be surrendered upon demand.
  • Guests are welcome at the YMCA, space permitting. Limit: One guest per active member. Guests are limited to one free visit per year with a member. Additional visits will be subject to a $15 day use fee for adults, $10 for children. Guests must be accompanied by a member and have a picture ID.
  • Parents are responsible for the safety and supervision of their children at all times. Children under the age of 12 years may not be left unattended in the facility. Unsupervised workout using cardiovascular equipment or free-weights is not permitted prior to age 16 years without a waiver signed by the legal guardian and completion of YMCA Branch fitness equipment orientation. Children 12 and up who will be entering the facility must have a picture saved in their record.
  • A joining fee is required to rejoin the YMCA of Austin following more than 45 days of inactivity.
  • The YMCA of Austin is founded on Christian principles - respect, responsibility, honesty, caring - and prohibits inappropriate behavior and conduct. Behaviors by members or patrons deemed threatening or harmful to the wellbeing of the public while at YMCA functions will initiate a staff review process which may result in the termination of membership or services. The carrying or concealing any weapons devices or objects which may be used as a weapon in YMCA of Austin facilities or program sites is forbidden. (State of Texas Penal Code 30.06) One may not enter any YMCA of Austin property with a handgun that is carried openly. (State Penal Code 30.07)
  • I understand the YMCA of Austin is not responsible for personal or vehicular property loss, damaged, or stolen while members and/or program participants are using YMCA facilities, on YMCA premises, or involved in YMCA programs.
  • All YMCA of Austin campuses are tobacco, drug and alcohol free. This also includes paraphernalia such as e-cigarettes.
  • The YMCA reserves the right to review any membership application and deny membership to any member at the discretion of Y Management.
  • I further understand that YMCA management has the authority to amend policies and procedures at any time to ensure the delivery of the highest possible services to the general membership.
  • The YMCA of Austin may, at our discretion, adjust the monthly rate applicable to the member’s membership category. The member will receive a four-week notice prior to any such change.
  • I authorize the use of any photographic or video image of the member(s), named herein, during any program or activity, for use in any YMCA publication or outreach.
  • The member acknowledges that it is the policy of the YMCA of Austin to deny membership, program participation or visits to any individual convicted of a crime for which registration as a sex offender is required and that the YMCA of Austin will regularly monitor its database for criminal history.
  • Cell phone/Video taping: Due to the advances in video equipment and telephone video technology, and for the safety and security of our members and guests, any and all video equipment may not be used in locker rooms, dressing areas, shower areas, restrooms, lobby, common areas and other areas generally deemed to be private within the YMCA facilities. Members and participants must refrain from capturing videos that include other members in the background for use on personal social media. The YMCA of Austin requests that cell phone usage be reserved for designated cell phone areas only.
  • I understand that YMCA activities have inherent risks and in consideration for membership at the YMCA and participation in YMCA programs I hereby assume all risks and hazards incident to my participation in all YMCA activities, due to the negligence of the YMCA or otherwise wile in, about, or upon the premises of the YMCA and/or while using the premises or any facilities or equipment thereon or participating in any program affiliated with the YMCA, including volunteer service. I further waive, release, absolve, indemnify, and agree to hold harmless the YMCA, the organizers, volunteers, supervisors, officers, directors, participants, coaches, referees, as well as persons or parents transporting participants to and from activities from any claims or injury sustained during my use of the YMCA property or participation in programs. I expressly assume all dangers, risks, and hazards to me and all minors in my care.
  • Coronavirus, COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that spreads easily through person-to-person contact. Federal and state authorities recommend social distancing as a means to prevent the spread of the virus. COVID-19 can lead to severe illness, personal injury, permanent disability, and death. Participating in programs or accessing facilities could increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. YMCA of Austin in no way warrants that COVID-19 or other communicable disease infections will not occur through participation in programs or use of YMCA facilities.
