With summer around the corner, we at Southwest Family YMCA are excited to offer our Small Group Trainings and Workshops that we have running all summer. 

Summer Camp | Ages 5 – 12

Get ready for Summer Camp Unplugged at Southwest Family YMCA, where the fun never stops! This is the ultimate summer experience, packed with sports, games, arts and crafts, Safe Archery, outdoor swimming, cool STEM activities and so much more!

Unplug from the screens and dive into endless adventure Monday through Friday from June 2nd to August 8th. Camp runs from 8 AM to 5 PM, with extended hours from 7 AM to 6 PM. Whether it’s exploring, creating, or just having a blast it’s the summer of a lifetime—no devices needed! 🌞🎨🏊‍♀️⚽🎯

Get ready for a lively summer season at your Y, as we welcome campers for our full-day summer camp.

This new summer camp program reflects our purpose of elevating the quality of life in Greater Austin by expanding access for all children, adults, families and seniors.

To make this a success, we want to share a few important updates that may affect your visit to the Y:

  • Peak Impact: Parents drop off campers between 7:00 am – 9:00 am and pick up between 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, so be prepared for more traffic during those hours.
  • Parking Update: Parking at the Program Center will not be available from June 2-August 8. However, additional parking is available in the gravel lot next door for your convenience.
  • Group Fitness Schedule: You may notice some  adjustments to the group fitness class schedule starting May 27th to better accommodate all members and campers. Please check the updated schedule on our website or app.
  • Pool & Gym Schedule: You may notice  adjusted hours to pool spaces and basketball courts during the day to accommodate summer camp activities. Please check the website or app for the most updated schedules.
  • Increased Activity: With young campers on site, there may be more energy and activity in and around the facility during the day.
  • Weather Contingency: In case of inclement weather, campers may temporarily use additional indoor spaces throughout the building.

We deeply appreciate your patience and flexibility as we introduce this exciting new program. Your support helps us continue to grow and serve more families in our community—thank you for being a vital part of it.

Swim Lessons | Ages 6M – Adult

Make a splash this summer with Youth and Adult Swim Lessons at the Southwest Family YMCA! We offer swim lessons for children and adults ages 6 months to 99 years, with classes available every day except Friday.

Families can choose from one-day, two-day, or four-day-a-week options—perfect for fitting your schedule and you or your child’s swim goals. Whether your little one is just getting comfortable in the water or ready to build strong strokes, we have a class thats right for them!  

Youth Programs | Ages 1 – 12

Looking for a fun and exciting way to keep your child engaged this summer? Our specialty programs offer hands-on activities they’ll love: 

🍳 Cooking – Kid-friendly recipes and tasty fun
🎨 Art – Paint, sculpt, and create
🧱 LEGO – Build, imagine and engineer
🧪 Science – Explosive (and safe!) experiments
🤸 Gymnastics – Energy, movement and confidence
🥋 Taekwondo – Action-packed martial arts fun

Practical Qi Gong Workshop | June 28th

Learn to manage your energy and nervous system through simple practices. Qi Gong combines guided meditation with breathing and simple body movements, which helps to regulate your nervous system, reduce stress, depression and anxiety, and increase lung capacity. Qi Gong can support a balanced mental state as well as improve your physical training and longevity. 

Popsicle Fridays | 12PM – 1PM

Summer’s heating up, and we’ve got the perfect way to keep cool! 

Join us every Friday in June from 12 PM to 1 PM for Popsicle Friday at the Y!
Stop by, grab a popsicle, and enjoy a sweet treat on us, it’s a little burst of fun on your Friday afternoon!

Kids Night Out: Summer Splash | 5:30PM – 9:30PM

Make a splash this summer at our Kids Night Out: Summer Splash! On June 13th, from 5:30 to 9:30 PM, your kids can dive into an evening of non-stop fun—starting with pool time, then on to beach games, tropical crafts and splash-tastic surprises. 

We’ll fuel the fun with pizza, summer tunes, and lots of laughs. Don’t forget swimsuits, towels and dry clothes—this is one night they won’t want to miss!
