Free & Open to the Public ‘Try the Y’ at East Communities Open House September 13! 

WHEN: Saturday, September 13 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Join us for a celebration of community, connection, and belonging! Free & Open to the Public – bring a friend, neighbor, or family member! Whether you’re a current member or brand new to the Y, this is the perfect opportunity to explore all we have to offer.

Try One or Try Them All! 

🏋️ Group Fitness Classes – A fun atmosphere building social connections, lead by expert instructors
🏀 Youth Sports Showcase (9 AM-11 AM)– Exciting demos and activities for all ages
💪Strength, Cardio and Swim – Enjoy our state of the art equipment and amenities 
👧 Kids Play  – Childcare while you workout, 6 weeks – 12 years old.

East Communities Y Welcoming Week Schedule: While our open house is open to all, the schedule below is just for Y members and those using a 7-day trial pass. Get a pass at the open house and come see what a full Y experience feels like!

📅 September 16th 

  • Circuit Bootcamp
    • 🕙 7:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
    • Featuring various instructors

📅 September 17th 

  • Pathways to Healing: A Mental Health Workshop
    • 🕙 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M.
    • This information session will address the urgent need for mental health services in the underserved Hispanic community and highlight available resources provided in the Community Advancement Network’s Pathways to Mental Healing Toolkit. Participants will also receive information about Greater Austin YMCA Counseling services provided in Spanish and available at low-cost.
  • Local Government 101
      • 🕙 6:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.
      • Mocktails & Snacks Provided
      • Hosted by The Austin Common, this fun and interactive workshop covers how Austin’s city government works, how residents can make their voices heard, how to contact city departments to address issues, how to access valuable city assistance programs and how to make community change.

📅 September 18th 

  • Coffee Passport with Armadillo Coffee Roasters
    • 🕙 9:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
    • Travel the world one sip at a time with the experts from Armadillo Coffee Roasters sharing the roots of the roasts.

📅 September 20th 

  • HIIT Class
    • 🕙 9:45 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.

Happening All Week

  • 🌍 International Coffee Tasting: Sample coffee from different countries each day.
  • 🎨 Kids’ Play Activities: Kids explore different countries and cultures through themed coloring pages, collaborative mosaic posters, hands-on geography puzzles, and story times featuring books that highlight inclusion and traditions from around the globe.
