Bastrop YMCA to Close December 18

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant losses in membership and to programming. The Bastrop YMCA will discontinue operations and programming on December 18, 2020 as a result of financial losses sustained from the pandemic.

We understand the disappointment this may cause. We have explored a variety of options to support our operations, from grants and partnerships to financial support from city and county funds, but we have exhausted our options. We simply don’t have the funds to withstand something as catastrophic and long-lasting as this pandemic has been.

All Bastrop YMCA branch members will be welcomed to other YMCA of Austin branches and retain access to Virtual YMCA programming, which includes more than 20 hours of live programming each week as well as a library of hundreds of on-demand classes.

Bastrop Y members should contact Terry Moore at 512-321-9622 or email or complete this form to indicate their membership wishes by December 18.

Founded in 2010 in partnership with the City of Bastrop, the Bastrop YMCA is a nonprofit community center dedicated to healthy living, youth development and social responsibility. We’re open to all, and we serve everyone from young kids to the elderly and everyone in between. Strengthening the community is what we do. Our programs are how we do it.
