Schmetterling YMCA

Schmetterling YMCA is underway in Four Points!

A YMCA campus for children, families, adults, seniors and generations to come.

The new YMCA campus will bring together fitness, childcare, swim, youth programs, wellness and community spaces designed to serve the whole family.

Located at 8300 N. FM 620, Schmetterling YMCA will expand access to YMCA programs and services in a growing area of Central Texas where families have long envisioned a full YMCA campus close to home.

The Greater Austin YMCA has announced an $18 million total investment from The Schmetterling Foundation, including a transformational new $15 million gift that advances the vision for Schmetterling YMCA. This investment builds on the foundation’s earlier $3 million gift that helped launch YMCA Tomorrow Academy in 2025.

In recognition of this extraordinary support, the future YMCA campus will be named Schmetterling YMCA.

“Schmetterling” is the German word for “butterfly,” symbolizing growth, transformation, hope and new beginnings.

The Schmetterling Foundation, led by Colleen and Jim Clark, chose the name as part of their commitment to investing in opportunities that create lasting community impact for future generations.

“The YMCA played an important role in our childhoods, and we know firsthand the impact these spaces can have on children, families, and communities” Colleen and Jim Clark, Steiner Ranch residents and founders of The Schmetterling Foundation, said in a joint statement. “As the Four Points area continues to grow, we are proud to help create a place where future generations can build friendships, gain confidence and feel connected.”
