Rainbow Hunt 👀

Turn your home into a colorful adventure! Send your child on a rainbow hunt to find objects in every color of the rainbow. Challenge them to look for something red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple around the house. As they search, talk about the colors they find and name the objects together. It’s a simple, playful way to build color recognition, vocabulary and observation skills. Kids love the excitement of the hunt!

Color Mixing Art 🎨

Get ready for a little colorful magic! Give your child a paper towel or coffee filter and let them draw lines, dots or patterns using washable markers. Then lightly spray or drip water onto the paper towel/coffee filter and watch as the colors spread and blend together like a rainbow. Kids will love seeing their artwork transform while exploring creativity, color mixing and cause and effect. It’s simple, a little messy and a lot of fun!

Sink or Float?💧

Turn your kitchen into a mini science lab! Fill a bowl or sink with water and gather a few small household items like a spoon, toy car, block, leaf or bottle cap. Before dropping each object in, ask your child to predict whether it will sink or float. Then test it together and see what happens! This simple experiment encourages curiosity, early science exploration and language skills as you talk about what you observe.

March Wind Dance 🌬️

Let your child become the blustery winds of March! Put on some music and encourage them to move like the wind: swirling, swaying, spinning fast or drifting slowly. Scarves or towels make great “wind” props to wave through the air. This playful activity helps build gross motor skills, listening and imagination while getting those wiggles out.

Grow a Seed in a Cup 🌱

Bring a little bit of spring indoors by planting a seed together. Place a bean or seed in a cup with a little soil or a damp paper towel and add water. Then check on it each day to see how it changes and grows. Kids love watching the transformation while learning about responsibility, observation and early science.

Rainy Day Counting ☔

Create your own rainy-day math game! Draw or cut out raindrop shapes on paper and scatter them across the table. Ask your child to count the raindrops, sort them into groups or place a certain number onto a “cloud.” It’s a fun and hands-on way to practice counting, number recognition and sorting skills.

Nature Walk Treasure Hunt 🌼

Take a short walk outside and search for signs that spring is here. Look for things like flowers, birds, green leaves, sticks or interesting clouds. Talk about what you find along the way and let your child point out their favorite discoveries. This simple adventure builds observation skills, vocabulary and a connection to nature.

Shamrock Collage 🍀

Celebrate spring creativity with a shamrock craft! Draw or cut out a large shamrock shape on paper and let your child decorate it with crayons, scraps of paper, tissue or stickers. As they glue and design, they’ll be strengthening fine motor skills and creativity while making a festive piece of art.

Dress for the Weather 🌦️

Turn your morning routine into a learning moment. Talk about the weather outside. Is it sunny? Rainy? Windy? Let your child help choose the right clothes for the day. This simple activity encourages decision-making, weather awareness and independence.

Puddle Jump Pretend Play 💦

No rain? No problem! Create indoor “puddles” using paper plates, towels or paper circles on the floor. Invite your child to jump from puddle to puddle just like they would outside after a spring rain. It’s a fun way to practice balance, coordination and active play while burning off some energy.
