YMCA Military Scholarship Program

Eligible military personnel will receive a Greater Austin YMCA Military Scholarship to apply 15% support toward a membership type of their choice and pay no fee to join at all Greater Austin YMCA locations.

Eligible personnel include active duty, reservists and veterans of the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force, National Guard and Coast Guard. At this time, members of the Reserves will be awarded a waived joiner’s fee, but no reduction in membership dues.

To sign up for your military membership, please visit your local Greater Austin Y and bring one of the following:

• A current, valid military ID
• Your DD214 form (release from Active Duty)
• Common Access Card
• Driver’s license, if VETERAN is denoted

YMCA of the USA Armed Services Membership

YMCA of the USA and the Department of Defense Initiative offers YMCA memberships, at no cost, to eligible military families and personnel who may not have access to a nearby military facility. Eligible military families & personnel include:

• Title 10 Deployed Guard/Reservist (Title 32 are not eligible)
• Relocating Spouse (Title 32 are not eligible)
• Independent Duty
• Community-Based Warrior Transition Unit

Existing YMCA Military members should submit renewal applications to your Military Component Approving Official (MCAO).
