Thanks to generous donors to our Annual Giving Campaign, qualified applicants are approved for Greater Austin YMCA scholarships based on a sliding fee scale designed to fit each applicant’s unique financial circumstance.

There is a one-time Join Fee for all activated memberships. If you cancel your membership, you may rejoin in branch within 45 days with no Join Fee. Seniors 65 and over never pay a Join Fee.

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States with your YMCA of Austin membership. We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to strengthen communities. 

  • Nationwide Membership is valid for active, full facility YMCA members whose home Y participates without restriction or blackout periods 
  • Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time 
  • Program-only participants (including Silver Sneakers, Silver and Fit or other similar programs) are not eligible for nationwide membership 
  • Special memberships established by any Y for group homes, other agencies, etc., are not eligible 
  • When visiting a Y, nationwide members will be required to show a valid YMCA membership card, photo ID and provide basic membership data such as name and email address 
  • Members will need to sign a universal liability waiver and privacy policy 
  • Nationwide members may access services typically offered to full-facility members. Check with the Y for schedule and availability. Nationwide members visiting other Ys for a period greater than 28 days must transfer membership affiliation for continued use 
  • All Ys reserve the right to restrict or revoke these privileges 
  • Registered sex offenders are prohibited from participating 

Guest Visits 

  • Guests are welcome, space permitting, when attending with an active member.
    • Limit: One guest per active member.
    • Guests are limited to one free visit per year with a member.
    • Guests must be accompanied by a member and have a valid picture ID.
  • .Guest pass available for prospective members taking a guided tour
    • Limit one pass per year
  • Additional visits may be purchased by the day. The day use fee is  $15 for adults, $10 for children.

Day Passes 

  • Day pass visitors are welcome into any YMCA of Austin facility, space permitting.
  • Unlimited day pass visits per calendar year.
  • Fees: 
    • $10/youth (up to age 16) 
    • $15/adult 
    • $25/family 
  • Day Pass visitors must have a valid picture ID.

SilverSneakers®
SilverSneakers® is a preventative exercise program that enhances the quality of life for mature adults across the country. One of the largest senior-focused exercise program in the United States, this partnership between HCD and HMOs allows Medicare-eligible members of these health plans to participate in YMCA programs at no additional cost. 

Silver & Fit®
Silver & Fit® provides eligible members with no-cost or low-cost fitness memberships through arrangements with certain health care plans. Silver & Fit is designed to help seniors achieve better health through regular exercise and health education. Visit SilverandFit.com for more information. 

Renew Active™ from UnitedHealthcare
Renew Active™ from UnitedHealthcare is an easy way to keep your fitness routine fresh and fun. Get access to a variety of exercise classes, equipment and social activities. Renew Active™ is available at the Y for no additional cost to you as part of your healthcare plan.
