Camp

YMCA Winter Holiday, Spring Break, and Summer Day Camps offer children a safe, exciting, and memory-making day camp experience. Children have the opportunity to build self-confidence, independence, and creativity.

At YMCA day camps, campers make friends while learning the values of diversity and cooperation. Best of all, you can be assured your kids are having fun in a friendly, caring, and safe environment.

Summer Camp 2012

Where Great Things Begin

This summer, the YMCA of Austin will offer 18 camps across Travis and Hays Counties including Kinder, Theme, Sports, and Adventure camps. All camps will offer swimming, field trips, games, crafts, and character development activities. Camps will operate from 7:30 am - 6:00 pm at designated schools, churches, and YMCA facilities. Campers will enjoy changing weekly themes, sports, and adventures as well as weekly field trips and twice weekly trips to the pool. Activities are based on the YMCA of Austin's character values (Respect, Responsibility, Honest, Faith, and Caring) and the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets.

Additionally, we are pleased to report that the Dell Super Summer Reading Program will again be offered at select camps thanks to the generous grant from Dell YouthConnect. Through this program, certified teachers are employed by the YMCA of Austin and tasked to work with campers one-on-one or in small group settings with the goals of increasing reading comprehension and fluency during the summer months. This program will be offered at all four YMCA learning centers, three Kinder camps, Barton Hills Theme Camp, Kocurek Theme Camp, Pillow Theme Camp, and East Communities Theme Camp.
