Nicola has held multiple roles at the Y. She started as an afterschool counselor, progressed to a site director for afterschool care and summer camps, then transitioned into administration at the association offices, and finally she was promoted to her current position in December 2018. Nicola’s position includes the opportunity to engage with families through social media, updating the website, photography, tabling events, answering emails and phone calls, among many other tasks. Nicola enjoys working for the Y because of the sense of fulfillment gained from helping families as well as the culture. She loves that the Y welcomes all, offers financial assistance so that everyone can benefit from our programs, and hosts community programs such as Project SAFE, Learning Centers, and Early Learning Readiness to help our community. Nicola is a dual citizen, having been born in Scotland (a country that is part of the United Kingdom), and she became a U.S. citizen in 2007. She loves travelling and experiencing new cultures, which is why the Y’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is important to her. In her free time Nicola enjoys karaoke with friends, travelling with her family, various craft projects, and watching movies.
