Jason Daniel has been the Executive Director at the Springs Family YMCA since November of 2013.

Jason’s first experience with the YMCA as a teenager was attempting to sneak into his local Y in Rockwall, Texas to play racquetball.  Little did he know that 10 years later in his first professional role at the North Park YMCA in Austin, Texas he would be sitting on the other side of the welcome center trying to stop the local neighborhood teenagers from sneaking into the Y to participate in none other than, you guessed it, racquetball!

Since joining the Austin Y in 2007 Jason has worked at 3 different locations.  Earlier on in his career he developed a passion for organizing and delivering youth programs.  His favorite program to oversee as a program director was Adventure Guides.  Leading families through weekend camping adventures in the local state parks allowed him to nurture his love for the outdoors and provide quality programming experiences for parents and children to connect, bond and learn together.

Today as a branch leader Jason’s passion is staff leadership development.  He believes that one of the Y’s largest and most impactful programs is employment. The Y is one of the largest employers of young people across the country and is well positioned to support, teach, and inspire young people to achieve their full potential as leaders in their schools, communities, and other professional institutions.

Jason holds a B.B.A. in Management from the University of Texas at Austin and when he’s not doing the work of the Y he looks forward to experiencing new outdoor adventures with his two daughters Amelia and Julia and his wife of 10 years Daniela.

When I’m not at the Y, I’m blessed to spend time with a tremendous network of family and friends.   I love to travel, go to the theater, listen to live music, read books that make me feel, explore the outdoors, and eat lavish dinners with a great bottle of red wine.
