Your new best friends and training partners are waiting for you to join YMCA Triathlon Training programs! Open to all ages and abilities!
Beginner or Novice? We have friendly, experienced, certified coaches to take you from standing still to swimming, biking and running in your first triathlon. Our Rookie Tri Training is a perfect start into the world of triathlon. Try it, you'll love it!
Intermediate or Advanced? Join us weekly for weekly interval training or prep yourself for the Pflugerville and Kerrville Tri's. Our USA Triathlon Certified Coaches will help train you to successfully complete your first olympic distance or 70.3 race! The Y also offers masters swimming, group swim technique improvement (stroke clinic), private swim lessons, and personal training to get you strong and ready to race.
Beginner Tri Swim
This class is designed with the beginning/short course triathlete in mind, and will prepare you for a first triathlon or if you just want to improve your swim. This six week program will focus on technique development and conditioning (~300-1000y assigned per session).
Participants for this training will receive a 10% discount when they sign up for the Rookie Tri Training program.

Attend any five sessions at any time through the end of September. Training card is for triathletes preparing for sprint through 70.3 distance races in early 2017!. Run sessions Tu 5:30am/ 6:30pm ; Indoor cycle/brick sessions Wed 7-8:30pm at the Northwest Family Y; swim sessions every other Tu/Th 7:50-8:50pm at the Northwest Family Y. Please contact Coach Casey Arendt (cycling, swimming) or Sharon Boon (running) for access to the training calendar for further details of location and timing throughout the season. Additional sessions may be added; RSVPs may be required to avoid session cancellation.
Rookie TRI program

Train with a great group of people and instructors who will become your new best friends and training partners. We have a triathlon training program that will benefit everyone whether it is their first race or not. Also, receive FREE Y-Tri club membership; great seminars and club events, and training partners.
Group training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-8 pm (unless swimming and then we start at 7:50 pm) and Saturdays 7-9 am at the YMCA or various off site locations.

Test your endurance in and support the YMCA of Austin's 2017 Annual Campaign! Event is open to adults and kids ages 9 and up (younger children who have at least a 25 inch inseam measurement may also participate). Event lasts one hour: 10 min indoor pool swim, 5-10 min transition, 20 min stationary bike ride, 5 min transition, 15 treadmill run or walk. Participants will be assigned to waves starting at 8; 8:25; 8:50; and 9:15. Prizes will be awarded at 10:30am. Further event instructions and wave start time will be emailed to you within 1-3 days of the event. Registration closes at 10pm on Friday, Feb. 24th. No day-of-event registration is available at this time.

Rookie Triathlon Training
Led by YMCA spin instructor and triathlete, Jill Eddleman
· 3 workouts per week: swim, bike and run
· Open to men and women of all athletic abilities
· Train with a group to participate in The Rookie Triathlon on May 7, 2017
Training will also include information sessions on race nutrition, strength training during triathlon training, transition information, and other information on getting "race ready".
Current Program: January 31st to April 30th on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
