UT Austin: Quit Smoking Study

Are you ready to quit smoking? Do you want to engage in regular exercise?


If you said Yes to both questions, you may be eligible to participate in a UT Austin research study that includes a 15-week exercise program at the YMCA. The study includes:

  • YMCA membership with a Personal Trainer that will guide your workouts 
  • Up to $250 in compensation 
  • 8 Weeks worth of Nicotine Patches

Splash Bash Summer Kickoff Party on May 20th!

It’s almost time for round two of our annual Splash Bash summer kickoff party! Last year was such a big success that we want to host another one for this awesome Y community. We will have a bouncy house, Glitter Princesses (just like last summer!), KONA snow cones, snacks, games, music, drinks, and more! This party is free and open to the public, so be sure to invite your friends and family.

Bastrop Y Community Garden!

In partnership with the City of Bastrop, the Bastrop Community Garden has beds available for adoption! The goal is to have beds adopted by organizations, civic groups, non-profits and families with the intent of using the garden as a teaching tool.

 

In order to adopt a bed, those interested will need to fill out an agreement. The guidelines are that those who adopt a bed are responsible for: upkeep of the bed (this includes cleaning, planting and watering) as well as cleaning out and preparing after the season for the next planting season.
