Basketball gym closure and odors Dec. 26-29

The basketball gym at the TownLake YMCA will be closed Dec. 26-29 for floor resurfacing.

The gymnasium is scheduled to reopen per our normal hours on December 30.

Also, please be aware that the resurfacing process includes strong odors. If you are sensitive to smells, this may affect your visit to other areas of our facility as well.

If you can't get enough of basketball, you are always welcome at our other YMCA locations throughout the greater Austin area.

FREE Caregiver Support Education

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a series of classes designed to empower family caregivers of older adults to take better care of themselves. The “tools” learned in the six week series benefit caregivers by helping them reduce stress, improve caregiving confidence, establish balance in their lives, communicate their needs, make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. The evidence-based curriculum was developed by  Dr. Kate Lorig and her colleagues at Stanford University. Classes are led by certified class leaders.

Paint for PALS

PALS - Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors - provides assistance in caring for the pets of our elderly and disabled, homebound neighbors. The PALS mission is to keep clients and their pets together, living at home with dignity.

PALS provides free pet food and supplies to 350 seniors each month. YMCA members of all ages are invited to a paint night to decorate bags for pet food delivery. Our homebound friends enjoy receiving handmade artwork and well wishes from the community.
