Women's Self Defense Seminar
In this seminar, you'll learn how to fight back using your voice, strikes (punches, kicks, knees, elbows), and defenses against real world attacks. You'll come away with skills to get home safe as well as develop and build the fighter mentality and spirit. This is a hands-on seminar. Expect a good workout with scenario and stress-based drills, all done in a safe and welcoming environment for any level of fitness and martial arts experience.
Class will be held on September 7th from 9am to 11am. Location is the Outdoor Fitness Unit, 600 Charles Blvd - Bob Bryant Park. Childwatch will be provided for ages 18 months to 12 years old.
Registration is required. $35 Members/$45 NonMembers

Beginner Yoga Workshop
This 6 wk yoga workshop is designed to take away the worries about your first yoga class and make your introduction to yoga an enjoyable experience. This will be a great way to focus on your poses, ask questions, develop your practice and make new friends. The instructors will demonstrate poses and make alignment adjustments, focusing on your practice and be able to give you some one-on-one guidance.
Beginner Yoga Workship will be held upstairs at the Kerr Center
Mondays at 5:30pm to 6:30 pm, beginning July 15th.
Registration is Required. Members $25 and NonMembers $40

The Quick Cook is a 4-week 1.5 hour per class. It is a nutrition education program that focuses on saving time shopping, cooking, and storing food. There is also a cooking skills demonstration. Participants receive The Quick Cook Notebook (over 150 pages) full of nutrition tips and delicious healthy recipes. Kids 10 years or older may join with a parent also participating. Class will be held at the FUMC Bastrop.
Saturdays from 10am-11:30am.

Have you wondered what TRX is all about? It's TOTAL RESISTANCE EXERCISE. In other words, it is a supenion training program using your body weight. It is a unique training tool for any level that allows you to use your own body weight and gravity as resistance. TRX engages your core and other major muscle groups involved in specific movements. This class is being held at the Outdoor Fitness Unit at Bob Bryant Park. Class is from 6pm-7pm with instructor Jo. It's a value program included in your membership. Non-members can participate as well with a $10 day pass.
Thursdays from 6 to 7pm. No Registration Required.
