Lots of volunteer opportunities at TownLake and the YMCA!

The YMCA has been thriving thanks to volunteers for 175 years! Several opportunities are open now to make an impact in our community through volunteer programs and events. Please contact TownLake YMCA Volunteer Coordinator Michelle "Michie" Reid at michelle.reid@austinymca.org if you can give back in any of these roles:

- Hangtime helper: Join Y staffer Julie Maloukis in working with preschool age children on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 9:30-11:30am at TownLake. The Hangtime program is lots of fun -- with arts, crafts, physical activities, and more -- and Julie could use another adult helper to engage with our sweet Y kids. The ideal volunteer would be available as consistently as possible.

- Meditation leader: Our regular Tuesday morning meditation leader is on hiatus starting Oct. 16, and we would love to have sometime continue the program, Tuesdays 8:30-9am. A calm, soothing presence is appreciated. You don't have to be a meditation pro. You can read your own guided meditation, share ones from books or online, or even play a meditation from an online app. The gift you bring is consistency and holding space for others to join you in quiet, grounding time in our conference room.

- Youth and Government volunteer: There are lots of roles in the YMCA's annual statewide Youth and Government Conference. Engage with young leaders and be inspired by their talent and vision. Click here for more on Y&G.

- Swim Meet volunteer: Saturday, Oct. 26, 2-4pm, at TownLake. Join us to help put on the YMCA youth swim meet! This is a great opportunity for one-time volunteering with a fun Y event.
