American Sign Language Level 2 for ages 5-12
What is American Sign Language?
American Sign Language is a way of communicating by moving the hands with facial expressions and different postures of the body. This is the primary language used by those who are hard of hearing or deaf.
This is a six week course that will meet once a week on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30. Each class will introduce new signs and introduce a piece of deaf culture.The students will be given handouts and resources to practice at home. Some of the things they will learn include home signs, school signs, sports signs nature signs, appropriate ways to interpret and communicate through an interpreter, how to get a deaf persons attention, deaf contributions to sports, cochlear implants, songs, and games. This course is designed for children who have already taken ASL level 1.
