Blood Drive Tuesday, April 27

Springs Family Y

Calling all blood donors! As more patients require treatment at Central Texas hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic, our partner We Are Blood is in continued need of blood donations. The bloodmobile will be in the Springs Family YMCA parking lot on Tuesday, April 27 from 12-6 PM. Wear your mask and come give back!

In order to follow federal guidelines regulating the proximity of donors in a confined space, you must register for a donation appointment. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated at this time. REGISTER FOR A BLOOD DONATION APPOINTMENT

We Are Blood manager Louis Hill shares this update on safety precautions in light of COVID-19:

“We Are Blood staff will be wearing masks, and we require donors to wear them as well. We have hand sanitizer everywhere and we are continuously wiping down commonly used items after each donor. We reduced the amount of people we see to 1 every 15min, to reduce the contact and risk of proximity to other people.”

Anyone who is not feeling well should please stay home and give blood when they are better, Hill said.

The YMCA of Austin is proud to offer this opportunity to give back, as part of our commitment to Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Blood donors make a lifesaving difference for so many right here in our local community. All of the blood donations collected at the drive will go directly to Central Texas hospitals and patients in need.
