Do the kids need to get out of the house this summer, but most camps are full? Don’t worry, there’s still plenty for them to do at the Y! Check out what we have to offer this Summer for Kids!

Preschool Camps

For your tot who is 6 weeks through 3 years, the Extend-A-Care YMCA still has select spots available at our Austin High and Galindo Preschool Camps! Preschool Camps incorporate a number of age-appropriate activities such as dramatic play, reading, science and math, arts and crafts, outdoor play, music and motion, and more. You can have peace of mind knowing your child is in the caring and nurturing hands of highly-trained EAC Y staff.

Early Learning Readiness

Get a jumpstart to preschool! The YMCA’s Early Learning Readiness Program provides a stimulating environment for children aged 2–4 years to play and learn while developing the physical, verbal, and social skills they’ll need to start school ready to succeed. It is a free community program for low-income families, thanks to grant funding.

Children learn through play-focused activities. As a caregiver, you will be given the opportunity to engage with your child to develop skills and become an integral part of your child’s learning and enjoyment!

Youth Programs

From swim lessons to martial arts to music lessons, to a variety of dance classes, we have programs for kids with a variety of interests! The Y offers monthly recurring lessons year-round to keep kids active and engaged. Kids develop skills, practice proper form, and boost their self-confidence.

Help your child explore a number of opportunities this summer. They might be the next Picasso, Olympic gymnast, or music prodigy!

Youth Sports

Get on the ball! Over the summer we’re offering basketball league (ages 4-11) and volleyball clinics (ages 8-14), with more offerings coming in the Fall (soccer, volleyball league, and baseball).

Youth Sports promotes family involvement, team-building, good sportsmanship, individual development, a positive self-image, a sense of fair play, and mutual respect for others. Be your child’s greatest fan this summer!

Mini Camps

As an alternative to full-day camps, the Y also offers Mini Camps! Mini Camps are a 4-day, half-day camp held at local Y branches and run by the branch staff. We provide a weekly themed curriculum and pool days throughout the week. It is a shorter option to all-day summer camps. Registration is open for the whole summer. 

Mini Camp options include LEGO Camp, Basketball and Volleyball camps, Adaptive camp, and specialty camps at YMCA Camp Moody.

Summer Vibes

This summer, teens aged13-17 years will have the opportunity to enjoy a FREE 8-week program at the North Austin and East Communities Y branches where they can hang out with new friends, go on field trips, and learn life hacks. Activities include team building, painting, cars, cooking, job interview skills & more.  Participants can take advantage of a free YMCA membership for the duration of the program.
