Adaptive Camps Bring Connection & Fun

Camp in Motion is an adaptive sports camp offered in partnership with Dell Children’s Medical Center, Austin Community College and the YMCA of Austin.

Camp in Motion is designed for kids ages 5-20 with mild to moderate cerebral palsy or other similar neurological diagnoses. The experience includes sports, friends and fun in an inclusive environment with the week ending in an awards ceremony.

Campers participate in individual and group activities with Dell Children’s pediatric physical and occupational therapists and YMCA program staff. Learn more about this program and how you can get involved today!

WAVE Drowning Technology Prevention

When WAVE Drowning Detection Systems offered the YMCA an opportunity to pilot their system with campers at YMCA Camp Moody, we said yes! Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death for children under age 5 and the second cause through ages 14, and keeping children safe in the water is our top priority.

KVUE stopped by camp last week to learn more about this enhanced safety system. See how this innovative technology is helping keep kids safe this summer!
