Y Featured Class: Women With Weights

We’re shining a spotlight on one of our specialty fitness classes, Women with Weights!

This class focuses on introducing women to strength training, weight-lifting technique, and building confidence in using the weight-side of the fitness center. An additional benefit to this class is that the class numbers are kept small. You'll get individualized attention at a fraction of the cost of personal training! The class is available at East Communities, North Austin, Southwest, and TownLake branches.

We asked Women with Weights participants from Carrie's class at East Communities about what makes this class so special, and here’s some of what they had to say:

"I started attending the YMCA East Communities location recently. Using weights was intimidating, but something I needed to incorporate into my exercise schedule. Where to begin and how?
Then I noticed "Women with Weights" on the Y schedule! Carrie taught me SO much during the two months I took the class.
I now know how to correctly use the weights and am comfortable anywhere in the fitness center at the Y. Thank you, Carrie!"

Get details about our Women with Weights class by clicking HERE, or drop-in and try the class any day for only $10 for Y Members, or $20 for Nonmembers.

East Communities: Tuesday/Thursday 10:40-11:40am

North Austin: Tuesday/Thursday 9-10am

Southwest and TownLake: Monday/Wednesday 10-10:50am
