The YMCA of Austin has added Brian Carter as its first Chief Experience Officer, a new executive staff position focused on elevating the Y member experience and evolving the eight Austin-area Y centers into branded destinations for health & wellness, family enrichment and community transformation. Brian will also focus on helping the Y fulfill the vision for Camp Moody, an 85-acre park located in Buda, Texas.
Brian joined the Hays Communities Y Board of Managers in 2019 and became branch chair in 2020, demonstrating a deep passion for the Y Mission. Now he’s taking that commitment to the next level, literally, by joining the YMCA of Austin executive leadership team.
From SeaWorld to the San Antonio Zoo to CapMetro, Brian has forged a 20+ year career of creating world-class destinations and best-in-class experiences. Brian comes to the Y from CapMetro, our local public transit agency delivering more than 30 million trips annually to customers. Since he joined CapMetro in 2018, Brian led the agency’s business development and public awareness efforts, which include a historic and successful ballot measure in November 2020 to fund a $7.1 billion expansion of the region’s transit network.
