9 YMCA Holiday Happenings This December

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! There’s lots of things going and room for heart growing with holiday cheer. Join your YMCA friends for a December to remember. This month is packed full of family-friendly events and celebrations for all ages to enjoy. Stop by one or all of your favorite events during the holiday season.

  • Holiday Camp: Dates vary | Program ServicesDragons and unicorns and wizards oh my! You are cordially invited to the YMCA of Austin’s holiday camp extravaganza. We are going to explore the wonderful world of magic and make-believe. Join us as we read about dragons, make unicorns and practice magic. Pretend to be a mermaid as we swim twice a week at the YMCA and enjoy a different field trip each week!
  • Online Silent AuctionDecember 1st - December 10th | Program Services YMCA | Benefiting the YMCA of Austin Annual Campaign: Get your holiday shopping done with just a few clicks and support your community while you’re at it! Join us for our Online Silent Auction from December 1 - 10 and try your luck at snagging sweet gifts from favorites including Kendra Scott , Contigo Austin, Ballet Austin, YETI and many more! All money raised through the auction directly benefits our Annual Giving Campaign, which provides programmatic and membership financial assistance to children and families in our neighborhoods.   • Cookies with SantaSaturday, December 9th 12:30 - 2:30pm | Southwest YMCA | FREE Community Event: Join us for our annual Cookies with Santa Event. Watch us transform the Basketball Gym into a holiday wonderland. Activities will include: letter writing, arts & crafts, cookie decorating, a visit with Santa and lots of holiday cheer! 
  • Holiday Market & Craft SaleSaturday, December 9th 10am - 3pm | East Communities YMCA | FREE Community Event: Get all your best holiday shopping out of the way in one go and support local businesses! Stop by, sip a cup of free coffee and enjoy perusing a variety of fantastic vendors, including: local artists, craft makers and small local businesses. Whether its lipstick, jewelry or home decor you’re looking for, you’ll find that and everything in between! 
  • Holiday Cookie Festival and Pictures with SantaMonday, December 11th 9am - 6pm | Springs Family YMCA | FREE Community Event: Join us for our annual cookie walk. This is an event the whole community can enjoy. We will have lots of fun activities for the children as well as some fun for the adults. Festivities include: cookies, pictures with Santa, a moon bounce, games, face painting, crafts and lots more fun. 
  • Breakfast with SantaSaturday, December 16th 9:30am - 12pm | Hays Communities YMCA | $10 Donation Suggested: Join us for our 10th annual Breakfast with Santa! Enjoy a pancake breakfast, crafts for the kids and a visit with Santa and his elves! Be sure to RSVP
  • Holiday Movie at the Bastrop Opera HouseSunday, December 17th 1:30 - 5pm| Bastrop Opera House | FREE Community EventBring your PJs and blankets. The Bastrop Y is hosting a Holiday-themed afternoon full of fun and treats! We will kick of the night with craft activities and cookie decorating. Then we will get comfy on the Opera House Floor to watch a Holiday-themed movie. It promises to be a fun, festive afternoon. Please have the whole family join us. 
  • Winter Break Kick-Off EventWednesday, December 20th 9am| TownLake YMCA | FREE Community Event: Ho, Ho, Hooray! Our TownLake Winter Break Kick-Off is coming! Join us and invite your friends. It will be a great day to introduce new visitors to our TownLake Community, and a great way to entertain kids on their first day off from school. Festivities include: Photos with Santa, a craft table for making holiday cards, hot cocoa with your Y staff and artwork and gifts for sale from YMCA member artisans. 
  • Santa’s Day Out (Parent’s Day Out): Saturday, December 23th 4 - 10pm | North Austin YMCA| $30 Members/$60 Non-Members: You can spend your childless hours buying last minute Christmas gifts, having date night, or just enjoying some much need you time. All while your child(ren) will be safetly entertained by our childwatch staff. They will enjoy doing a holiday craft, making a fun snack, dinner and a movie. 
  • Branch Holiday Hours: Make sure to take note of our branch holiday hours. The Y will be open throughout the season, but we will close on Christmas
