YMCA Day Camps

YMCA Summer and Holiday Camps offer children a safe, exciting, and memory-making day camp experience. Children have the opportunity to build self-confidence, independence, and creativity. At YMCA day camps, campers make friends while learning the values of diversity and cooperation. Best of all, you can be assured your kids are having fun in a friendly, caring, and safe environment.
Register for Summer Day Camp in any of the following ways:
Registration for each week ends on the Thursday prior. We will not accept registrations on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for the upcoming week of camp.

Summer Camps
The YMCA of Austin will offer 17 different full-day summer camps during 2008 for children ages 4 - 15. Registration for both members and non-members is ongoing now. Camps are starting to fill up. Don't wait until it's too late!
All camps will offer swimming, field trips, games, crafts, and character development activites. See below for specific camp calendars, swim dates and times, and field trip destinations.

Kinder Camps (Ages 4-5)
A scaled-down version of Theme Camp, Kinder Camp offers themes appropriate for younger children. Field trips and special events emphasize weekly themes. This camp has a little more quiet time but all the fun and activities of Theme Camp.
Kinder Themes: Rocking and Rolling; Planes, Trains, and Automoblies; Green, Eggs, and Ham; Simply Splatter; Under the Big Top; Go for the Gold; Splash Time; Sharks and Minnows; Chef Boy R Me; Kick, Dribble, and Swing; and Austin Travels.
Kinder Locations & Calendars: CrossPointe Church (Northwest YMCA) and Negley Elementary (Kyle, TX in Hays CISD)
Field Trips include: Austin Museum of Art, Emma Long Park, Capital Gymnastics, Brushy Creek Park, Kiddie Acres, Crocodile Gap, Austin Children's Museum and Zilker Park.
Kinder Weekly Fees: $146 Members; $176 Non-members
Theme Camps (ages 5-12)
Children will enjoy a different theme each week. Campers will swim, play games, participate in sports, and create arts and crafts. Field trips and special events emphasize weekly themes.
Themes: Art Attack; Back to the Future; Budding Composers; Mad Scientists; Splish Splash; Go for the Gold; Sharks and Minnows; Summer Time Gazette; Culinary Creations; Center Stage; and Austin Travels.
Locations & Calendars: Jollyville Elementary; Caraway Elementary; East Communities YMCA; Manor (Decker Elem) Theme; Fulmore Middle School (formerly listed as Central Austin); Cowan Elementary; Baranoff Elementary; Springs YMCA; and Hays County--Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Field Trips include: Westcave Preserve, Bob Bullock IMAX, Austin Museum of Art, Wonder World, Austin Zoo, Volente Beach, Austin Children's Museum, LBJ Wildflower Center, and Spaghetti Warehouse.
Theme Weeekly Fees: $146 Members; $176 Non-members
Sports Camps (Ages 8-12)
YMCA Sports Camp allow children of all skill levels to enjoy and improve their skills in a vareity of weekly sports. Campers enjoy swimming, field trips, and lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, and character.
Sports: Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Flag Football, Volleyball, Indoor Soccer, Kickball, Swimming & Water Sports, Wide World of Sports, and Bowling (Northwest only).
Locations & Calendars: Northwest YMCA and TownLake YMCA.
Field Trips include: Capital Gymnastics, Austin Park n Pizza, Aussie's, Austin Rock Gym, Volente Beach, McKinney Roughs State Park, DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, and Austin Indoor Soccer.
Sports Weekly Fees: $156 Members; $186 Non-members
Adventure Camps (Ages 10-13)
Designed for the mature and older school-age kids, Adventure Camp offers greater opportunity for specific skill development. Most of the day will focus on the weekly topic with other activities including swimming, crafts, and organized games fill the remainder of each day.
Adventure Themes: Centex Adventures, Camping, Trail Blazing, Rocks and Ropes, Canoe/Kayak, Fishing, Tubes and Rafting, Outdoor Challenge, Fun 'n Games, Cave Exploration, and Bullseye!
Locations & Calendars: Northwest Austin (Caraway Elementary), Southwest Austin (Cowan Elementary), and Hays Communities YMCA.
Field Trips include: Stunt Ranch, McKinney Roughs State Park, Veloway, Volente Beach, Bastrop State Park, Six Flags, Texas Paintball, Emma Long Park, Enchanted Rock, and Inner Space Caverns.
Adventure Weekly Fees: $168 Members; $198 Non-members
Teen Leadership Camp (Ages 13-15)
Teen Leadership Camp is a two-week camp designed for teens to improve their leadership skills through ropes courses, community service projects, and a specially created curriculum. Teens will also spend three days during week two of each session helping lead Kinder and Theme Camps during the direction and support of YMCA Site Leaders. Interested teens are required to interview before being admitted into the program. Interviews are designed to measure genuine interest in the program as well as maturity. Beginning in early May, staff from Program Services will contact applicants and their parents to set up interview times.
Locations: Session 1--Northwest YMCA; Session 2--East Communities YMCA; Session 3-- Fulmore Middle (formerly Central Austin); and Session 4--Hays Communities YMCA.
Field Trips include: Putt n Fun Zone, True North Ropes Course, Volente Beach, McKinney Roughs State Park, Splashtown, Ronald McDonald House, Partnerships for Children, Hays County Food Bank, Six Flags, and Crocodile Gap.
Teen Session Fees: $162 Members; $202 Non-members
