Powerful Tools for Caregivers - Free Program Starts Feb. 14

The TownLake YMCA and CaregiverU are teaming up to offer a free program called "Powerful Tools for Caregivers," a self-care education program for family caregivers.

The free classes will meet every Tuesday at the TownLake YMCA, from 12:15-1:45pm. The program runs from Feb. 14 to March 20.

The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program will provide you with tools and strategies to better handle the unique caregiver challenges you face. The tools learned in the six week series benefit caregivers by helping reduce stress, improve caregiving confidence, establish balance, communicate needs, make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

Classes are FREE, through a generous grant from St. David’s Foundation and available in Travis, Hays & Williamson counties. Classes are led by trained facilitators.

Topics include:
• Communicating in Challenging Situations l Taking Care of You
• Identifying and Reducing Personal Stress l Mastering Caregiving Decisions
• Communicating Feelings, Needs & Concerns l Learning from Emotions

DATES: Tuesdays - February 14 through March 20
TIME: 12:15 - 1:45pm
